Players play. That's all there is to it.
Neither wind nor cold nor threat of frost will keep them from their appointed rounds. And Red Hills Junior Tour (RHJT) and Emerald Coast Junior Tour (ECJT) players are exceptional. The Championship Camp Creek layout also lived up to it’s reputation as one of the toughest courses and most beautiful courses in the NW Florida. Braving freezing temperatures and 9 mph winds, more than 117 players took on the coastal challenge of Camp Creek and survived, tired but smiling after a long day.
Leading the scoring was ECJT's Trey Aguirre with an 8 over par 80 (15-18 Boys), followed by Cole Glass (81) and a three way tie for third (Samuel McLane, Dalton Humphrey and Spencer O'Donnell.
Boys 13-14 division was won by Niceville's Patrick Poate (85), who won by one stroke over Pensacola's Kevin Choe (86). Ashton Denton, Thomasville, GA, finished third.
Kayla Bloor (Niceville) took honors for Girls 15-18 over Rebecca Pruett (88). Carrilee Hiers, Quitman, GA, and Miranda Holt tied for third.
Tallahassee standout Teresa Conroy won the girls 13-14 division (92) over Milton's Hallie Rice and Thomasville, GA's Karson Stone. Malia Stovall finished third.
Keeping his undefeated streak alive in the Boys 11-12 was Dothan, AL's Kyle Cornelius who shot 80. B.J. Morrison (also of Dothan) shot 85 to take second, followed by Live Oak's Will Bozeman who finished third.
Lauren Miller, Niceville, won the Girls 11-12 (48), followed by Caroline Craig (50) and Mickela Helms (53) of Tallahassee.
Boys 9-10 division was won by Thomas Morris, Dothan, AL, with 46. Sam Barrett, Thomasville, finished second with 49, followed by Dothan's Emmett Lee, 50.
Madison Tenore, Destin, FL won the Girls 9-10 with a 48, followed by Niceville's Catie Craig.
Due to some playing delays, Boys 8-under were not able to complete their round but were true champs, finishing the last hole in the dark. All were winners -- but Destin's Blake Ridgon took first place, followed by Kannonball Goodman, also of Destin, Dothan's Mason Crowder, and Tallahassee's Aiden Ash.
Full scores are available under Current Events.
Thanks again to a wonderful Camp Creek staff, Red Hills Junior Tour Directors John and Leslie Baker, and all parents and players who braved probably the toughest conditions a golfer can experience. |

We are very pleased to announce that we are adding two new divisions to our events.
Beginning immediately with this weekend’s event at Eglin AFB in Niceville, we will be offering a Boys 12-14 and a Girls 12-14 9-hole division. These divisions are designed to give those Middle and High School players who are still early in their playing careers, an opportunity to experience tournament golf without having to compete against the best players in the Panhandle over 18 holes.
These divisions will play from the Red Tees and also utilize the Developmental Rules currently used by the 10-11 division.
We will also waive the Annual Registration requirements for the last two Summer Tour events for these divisions only!

Harrison Krause and Cynthia Navis take top honors at the Medicus Cup Spring Tour Championships. Clayton Vannoy and Madison Pacheco win the Medicus Spring Series and AJGA exemptions.
Cloudless skies and temperatures around 80 degrees provided a perfect backdrop for the Medicus Cup Spring Tour Championships. AJGA exemptions were awarded to the Series winners Clay Vannoy and Madison Pacheco, while Christain Bosso and Katt Crowdis received AJGA Performance Stars for preferential status treatment in the AJGA Performance Based Entry system. All 12 and over event winners received Florida Junior Tour STEP exemptions.
Trailing Trevor Bush by a stroke after the first day, Harrison Krause shot even-par 36 on the front to pave the way for an exciting finish that saw him win by two strokes over three players. Trevor Bush edged Cole Glass, with Clay Vannoy taking fourth in the scorecard playoff for second. Fourth was enough for Clay to edge Harrison for the coveted season points race, with Spencer O’Donnell being rewarded for consistent play throughout the Spring taking third.
After leading by four strokes after Day 1 in the Boys 14-15 Christian Bosso birdied #18 to secure a two stroke victory over Jason Rogers with Andrew Smith taking third. The win finalized a great Spring for Christian, who also won the Spring Series ahead of Parker Remig and Jason, who sneaked into third with his strong finish.
Cynthia Navis rode two great days of golf (75, 74) to a comfortable win over Langley Vannoy and Joanna Holt. Madison Pacheco’s fourth place finish allowed her to narrowly win the Spring Series, ahead of Langley and Joanna. Cynthia’s win brought her up to fourth place.
The Boys 12-13 division saw 6 players within 5 shots of the lead after day one with overnight leaders Tyler Cohen and AJ Panyko two shots in front of the pack. Bailey Pritchard played the low tournament round of the weekend (and of his life) - an even-par 72! - to come from behind and beat Tyler with Raymond Navis finishing strongly to take third place. Kevin Choe had secured the Spring Series before the event, with Bailey moving into second with his win and Nolan Remig securing third.
Katt Crowdis pared the last five holes to catch and pass overnight leader Jade Sanders in the Girls 12-14 division. The win helped her secure the Spring Series, after both girls have been locked in a tight battle for the title all season. Halle Rice played a personal best round of 86 in securing third place in the event and moving up to third for the Spring Series.
The Boys and Girls 10-11 division saw an exciting finish with three players within one shot going into the last hole. In the end Malia Stovall had to settle for third, a shot behind Bryce Johnson and Thomas Ponder, who moved on to a sudden death playoff on the difficult Par 5, #18 hole to determine the winner. The first playoff hole saw Bryce save bogey from the water, and Thomas save bogey from the greenside bunker. On the second playoff hole, Thomas hit his third shot to 8 feet and two putted for par and the win. The win also helped him, secure the Spring Series title, ahead of Malia and Cameron Fish.
Madison Tenore is the only undefeated golfer on the Tour this year! She played solid golf all weekend and beat Catie Craig and Jordan Stutler for the event title. Jordan used her third place finish to pass Coltin Kilpatrick for second in the Spring Series standings, with Catie taking fourth. |

Madison Pacheco and Clay Vannoy secure wins at Shalimar Pointe.
On a day made for golf on a tough and long Shalimar Pointe layout, Madison Pacheco recorded back-to-back wins in the Girls 15-18 division, while Clay Vannoy brought home his third win of the year and tightened his grip on the overall Medicus Cup Spring Tour title. With only the double points Medicus Cup Championships left to play in the Spring Series at the end of April at Emerald Bay, nearly all divisions have several players still in the running for the overall championships which will also bring AJGA exemptions for the older divisions.
Opening with three birdies on the first five holes and a front nine 3-under 33, Clay made it clear early that he was going to be the man to beat in the 16-18 Boys divisions. A few missed putts resulted in a back nine 39, for an even par 72. Bogeys on #1 and #10 were too much for the local Brandon Jowers to make up, even though a great birdie at #18 brought him within one shot of Clay. Harrison Krause finished another three shots back after a solid round 76. In the overall standings Clay has a commanding lead over Spencer O’Donnell (78) and Harrison.
After hitting her drive into the water on #1 and taking a double bogey, Madison Pacheco played nearly flawless golf to rally to a front nine 39 to set the stage for a round of 78 to beat Langley Vannoy by 3 shots in the Girls 15-18 division. Joanna Holt took third. The win extends Madison’s lead in the overall standings, ahead of Langley, who is still within striking distance, and Joanna.
After having three boys in a playoff for the title two weeks ago at Holiday GC, the 14-15 division again provided the expected close finish. Parker Remig took the title with a very solid back nine 38 to finish at 77 and a three shot win over 4 (!) players tied at 80. A birdie on #18 gave Christian Bosso the scorecard playoff win over Jason Rogers, with Tanner Kilpatrick and Stephen Shephard rounding out the top 5. The win moves Parker to within 70 points of Christian in the overall standings and sets things up for a memorable event in this division in two weeks.
Brian Richards had two birdies on his scorecard, including the decisive one on the difficult #18 finishing hole to score his first win on the Tour with a wonderful round of 79. Bailey Pritchard finished strongly a stroke back, with Kevin Choe another two shots back in third place. Even with one event left, four time winner Kevin is assured of winning the Spring Series, whereas Bailey, AJ Panyko and Nolan Remig are all vying for the final places on the podium.
The Girls 12-14 division saw Jade Sanders win by a shot over Katt Crowdis. Katt’s second place finish tightens her grip on the overall series championships race. Halle Rice finished third.
The Boys and Girls 10-11 division saw Thomas Ponder continue on his winning ways with a solid 42, ahead of seven (!) players all within 6 shots of second placed tour newbie Bryce Johnson, who beat Malia Stovall in a scorecard playoff for the second place. The win pushes Thomas back into the lead for the Spring Series over Malia by a mere 70 points with double points to be awarded at the next event. Cameron Fish leads a big group of players vying for third place in the Series Standings.
Madison Tenore defended her unblemished 2011 record with a solid 44 and assures her of the Spring Series title. Jordan Stutler second place finish over Coltin Kilpatrick brings her up to tie Coltin for second place in the Spring Series and sets up a showdown between the two for second in two weeks at Emerald Bay! |

Bloor and Andre win Advanced Lawn Control Championships at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
52 started at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on a day where sun, fog and wind alternated, to witness Kayla Bloor, Corey Andre, Christian Bosso and Katt Crowdis state their case to become this years Medicus Cup Spring Tour Champions and win the coveted AJGA exemptions that will be awarded to the Spring Tour Champions in their divisions.
Kayla Bloor returned to competitive golf with a very solid performance to win this years Sandestin event on the Baytowne course. A blistering start that saw her at 3-under par after four holes set the basis for a round of 77 and a 2-stroke win over Madison Pacheco, with Alexandria Ryals another 2 strokes back in third. In the Medicus Cup Spring Tour points race Madison has a slim lead after three events over Joanna Holt and Ivey Kelly.
Corey Andre used his local knowledge to good effect to win the Boys 16-18 division over Spencer Odonnell and Tyler Ritz. The second place finish took Spencer to the top of the Medicus Cup standings ahead of Trevor Bush and Clay Vannoy.
Christian Bosso dominated the Boys 14-15 division with the best round of the day in very blustery conditions. His round of 74 was highlighted by 4 birdies and a front nine 1-under 35. Stephen Shephard shot 82 to beat Parker Remig by a stroke for second. The win lifts Christian to second in the standings behind Jason Rogers (86) and just ahead of Parker in the race for the Medicus Cup Championships and the AJGA exemptions that will go to the winners of the four older divisions.
In the otherwise hotly contested Boys 12-13 division Kevin Choe had 2 birdies on route to a spectacular round of 76 that beat Mark Connelly (82), with Nolan Remig another shot back in third. Mark had four birdies but disaster on three holes derailed his efforts. Kevin leads the season standings comfortably, ahead of Mark and AJ Panyko (91).
The Girls 12-14 division saw the customary battle between Katt Crowdis and Jade Sanders with Katt coming out ahead by one stroke this time! Morgan Stutler finished strongly to take third. In the Spring Points race Katt has jumped out to a small lead over Morgan and Jade.
The Boys and Girls 10-11 division continues to provide some the largest fields and saw Thomas Ponder distance himself from the competition with some spectacular play. With a birdie and 5 pars he was nearly flawless. In the battle for second, four players where within a shot of each other coming to the 9th and final hole! Cameron Fish prevailed over Malia Stovall, who beat Lauren Miller in a scorecard playoff for third. Brett Nelson was another stroke back in fifth. With three straight wins, Thomas leads the Spring standings ahead of Malia, Lauren and Cameron.
Madison Tenore is the yardstick in the Boys and Girls 7-9 division this year and notched her third win of the season. Parker Milam finished very strongly to take second, with Jordan Stutler in third place. Madison also leads the Medicus Spring Cup standings ahead of Catie Craig, with Jordan and Coltin Kilpatrick in a tie for third.
The next event is our Vannoy’s Tires Winter Championships at Scenic Hills, March 12-13. This is a ECJGT double points event and the winners in the 12 and over divisions will also receive FJT exemptions. Scores will be sent to NJG Scoreboard for ranking consideration. A perfect day for scoring at Rocky Bayou Country club resulted in Trevor Bush and Joanna Holt taking home medalist honors in the senor divisions.
Trevor carded an eagle and five birdies for a 2-under 70 and a two shot win over Brandon Jowers and Taylor Murphy to take the boys medalist honors. Taylor had six birdies, but bogeys on three of the last four holes opened the way for Trevor. A triple bogey on the par 4 10th hole was too much for Brandon to overcome.
Joanna held off her two flight partners down the stretch to card a five-over 77 and earn girls medalist honors. Rebekah Pruett carded a solid 78 to finish a stroke behind, with Madison Pacheco another shot back in third.
In a very tightly contested 14-15 Boys division, 13 year old Brock Ochsenreiter had three birdies for a 2-over 74, to beat three players at 78. Samuel McLane beat Andrew Smith and Jason Rogers for second place with pars on the last three holes.
Kevin Choe produced some great shot making and clutch putts to shoot an 83 for a three shot victory in the 12-13 boys division. Three players were tied at 86, with a par on 18 clinching second place for Mark Connelly. AJ Panyko beat Bailey Pritchard for third.
The girls 12-14 division was comfortably won by Katt Crowdis with a very solid 85. Morgan Stutler finished with Hallie Rice taking third.
Thomas Ponder was the class of the field in the 10-11 Boys and Girls division, carding a 4-over par 40, highlighted by 2 birdies!! Malia Stovall had a very solid 42 to beat Sam Barrett for third.
The Boys and Girls 7-9 division saw Madison Tenore distance the field with a flawless 4-over par 40, which included a birdie on the tough #9 finishing hole!
We had to go back to hole #5 in the scorecard play-off to find that Catie Craig had taken second place ahead of Jordan Stutler, with Coltin Kilpatrick a shot back in fourth!
The next event will be held Saturday, February 12 at the Pensacola Country Club.

Forty six players participated in our first annual PINK OUT Championships at Tiger Point Golf Club, October 10, 2010, benefiting the American Cancer Society. The event raised $950 and will become a staple on our tour going forward. A very special Thank You goes out to the Morgan Family, who were instrumental in suggesting the concept and then coordinating with the local chapter of the ACS.
Patrick Dorsey used his home course knowledge to card a 79 and win the boys 16-18 division, ahead of Zach Billingsley (82) and Daniel Butterfield(84). Pensacola’s Clay Vannoy, however, won the overall boys and 14-15 division with a 3-over 75. Fairhope’s Walker Holden (77) and Niceville’s Andrew Smith (81) took second and third respectively.
Joanna Holt (80) confirmed her current dominant status in the area by winning the Girls 15-18 division ahead of Niceville’s Kayla Bloor (82) and Antonia Poate (85), who topped Madison Pacheco in a score card playoff for third place. Jade Sanders (103) won the Girls 12-14 division ahead of Destin’s Erin McGary (109).
The Boys 12-13 division provided the close finish we are always expecting, with Shalimar’s Kevin Kilpatrick (80) beating 10 year-old(!) Kevin Choe (82) by two strokes. All the more remarkable as Kevin was playing in his first 18 hole event after moving up from the younger division to continue playing against his friends! Stephen Shephard pipped Nolan Remig in a scorecard playoff for third with both boys finishing with 83 strokes.
Malia Stovall (49) is proving herself to be the player to beat in the Boys and Girls 10-11 division, beating playing partner Nathan Smith by one stroke. Jackson Weatherall took third place with a 53 in his first event in the higher division.
Madison Tenore continued her good form and carded a 45 to win the Boys and Girls 7-9 division ahead of Lauren Miller (48) and Jackson Reeves (55).
The next event will be held October 24 at the beautiful Rocky Bayou Country Club in Niceville. Registration is open! |

Trey Aguirre and Jaime Jordan also take Summer Tour Championship Titles
During two days of Tour Championship golf at Marcus Pointe, Trey Aguirre put all the lessons from a wet summer to great use and carded rounds of 73-69-142 to finish at 2-under par for the weekend and convincingly win the Boys 16-18 division. Having to play 21 holes on day 2, after a rain shortened Day 1, Trey shot his first competitive round in the 60’s in very tough conditions. Hunter Gullickson finished very strongly and continued to show solid late summer form to take second with rounds of 75-76-151. JD Cobb managed to hold on to third after rounds of 75-79. Trey and Hunter also secured first and second place in the Edwin Watts Summer Tour and took home the trophies and $100 and $75 gift certificates respectively, as well as a FJT STEP exemption each.
The Girls 15-18 division saw the expected tight battle. Jaime Jordan showed her class and experience to card rounds of 81- 77-158 to win by 4 shots over Langley Vannoy 84-78-162 and Madison Pacheco 83-84-167. This was also the same order for the summer tour rankings, with Langley and Madison receiving the FJT STEP exemptions from this event
The 14-15 division continues to provide the closest battles of the season. After the rain delayed first round was completed Sunday morning, no less than six! players were within one shot of the lead. Davis Bowyer played the most consistent golf on day two and end victorious after rounds of 83-78-161 over Jason Rogers 84-81-165 . Christian Bosso won score-card playoff for third with Clayton Vannoy and Parker Remig, who all shot 167. The Summer Tour race was clearly won by Clay Vannoy, with Jason Rogers and Christian Bosso taking second and third.
The Boys 12-13 division again came down to a showdown between Brock Ochsenreiter and Stephen Shephard. Both went neck and neck all weekend with Brock eventually coming out ahead after playing 27 holes on Sunday with rounds of 81-76-157 to Stephen’s 82-78-160. Tanner Kilpatrick finished third at 169. The Summer Race was Stephen’s before the event with Brock just edging Tanner for third.
The Girls 12-14 division saw Antonia Poate win convincingly after rounds of 93-88-181 over Jade Sanders and Morgan Stutler. Morgan’s consistent scoring throughout the season earned her the Summer Tour Title , with Jade taking second, ahead of Antonia.
The Boys and Girls 10-11 division saw AJ Panyko use his local course knowledge to great advantage. His rounds of 40-42-82 led him to a 4 shot victory over Nolan Remig 45-41-86, with Kevin Choe (42-46-88) taking third. The win allowed AJ to pass Kevin for the Summer Tour title , with Nolan beating out Patrick Poate for third place.
Sam Barrett from Thomasville, Ga. overcame a slow start on Day 1 to card rounds of 44-40-84 to beat David Cobb (43-45-88) in the Boys and Girls 7-9 division, with Lauren Miller taking third with rounds of 47-45-92. Madison Tenore’s consistent play throughout the summer meant the Summer Tour title could not be taken away from her. Caroline Craig came in second, with Lauren Miller beating Jackson Weatherall by a mere 10 points for third. We therefore awarded two third places this year!
Many thanks go to Bill Stone and his team at Marcus Point for helping us through a tough weekend. A big thank you to Edwin watts Golf for their continued support and an especially big thank you to Dr Barbara Mizell and Ed Rogers for helping us with prizes and awards again this summer. Jennifer Pandolfi, UWF Womens Golf Coach, came and spoke to the players about the key elements of being a good student athlete and how to best prepare for college golf.
And thank you for participating in your junior golf tour!
Best regards,
Chris and Michele Poate

Brandon Jowers, Langley Vannoy, Clay Vannoy and Madison Pacheco power ECJGT teams at Florida Junior Team Championships
The first trip for an Emerald Coast team to the Florida Junior Team Championships proved to be exciting and successful. In addition to playing to some great new competition and proving themselves worthy of their nominations, the team also enjoyed some time off together in the pools and lazy river at Orange Lake Resort. See pictures later for details!
Playing the Arnold Palmer designed Legends Course, Shalimar’s Brandon Jowers showed he is not just a force in the Panhandle, but also on the State level by winning the unofficial individual honors and leading the Boys 16-18 team to a tie for 2nd place! His rounds of 67-68-133 led the team to a 4 under par finish. Pensacola’s Trey Aguirre shot 76-74 and Jay’s Jesse Floyd shot 75-80 to each post a supporting scores. They are all itching to come back next for the win, as they were only two strokes behind the winning team!
The Girls 13-15 placed fourth, just one shot from third! Pensacola’s Madison Pacheco lead the team with rounds of 81-77 and tied for 5th individually. She was supported by Niceville’s Antonia Poate, who followed a first round 82 with a career low 79 on day 2, which also gave her a top 10 individual finish. Niceville’s Rachel Butterfield joined them with rounds of 93 and 125. Both Madi and Toni are also eligible to return in this division next year.
The Boys 13-15 division saw Pensacola’s Clay Vannoy take third place individually at 1 over par after very solid ball-striking rounds of 72-71-143 on the Orange Lake Reserve Course. This propelled his team to a seventh place finish in a very strong field. He was joined by Davis Bowyer with rounds of 84-79 and Jason Rogers with rounds of 88-80.
Pensacola’s Langley Vannoy two solid rounds of 74-76-150 placed her 8th individually and led her team to a 7th place finish. She was joined on the team by Niceville’s Jaime Jordan with rounds of 83-84 and Ivey Kelly with rounds of 89-86.
A big thank you to all the players and parents for their time and commitment. Michele and I are already looking forward to next year!
